Summertime Maternity at Coker Arboretum - Brinda and Jimmy

If you follow multiple wedding photographers or creatives you might see us talking about imposter syndrome. Its basically a mental block that makes us believe that we aren’t as good as we are, and that we will never amount to anything of substance especially when more talented people exist in the world. Its totally crippling and isolating but its clients like Brinda that remind me why I got into this business, and why I have to continue to pick up my camera no matter how insignificant I might feel. After following my work for years she wanted to reach out to capture her maternity photographs in chapel Hill but ultimately lost the baby. (A totally normal and common occurrence with a lot of my clients) But now that they were having their rainbow baby they waited until twenty weeks to reach out and capture this moment in their life. They knew they wanted to include their dog Coco as she will be a big sister now and show off the sonogram that was truly a miracle. It was such a pleasure to get to know them and their story as we walked around Coker Arboretum capturing their maternity photos. The summer flowers were in full bloom and created a tranquil backdrop for their session. I wish them and their new son Eaton (a name Jimmy had known he wanted to name his child since he was 16) al the happiness and love in the world and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things they get to do together as a family!
