Winter Elopement at the Museum of Life and Science Butterfly Garden with Chelsea & Eric
Chelsea and Eric shared a lovely pre-courthouse portrait session at the Butterfly House in Durham at the Museum of Life and Science. This was a unique way to add character to a civil ceremony. As a Durham Courthouse Photographer, I love when couples find fun ways to showcase their personalities in their wedding photos.
Chelsea and Eric are a goofy, fun loving couple who allowed me to be a part of their intimate day. From a beautiful, private vow exchange in The Butterfly Garden at the Museum of Life in Science in Durham to their intimate civil ceremony at the Durham Courthouse, I was able to experience the silliness and love that the couple shares.
Chelsea recalled how her one year subscription on Eharmony had been worth it, as it led to meeting Eric in record time. Since then, the couple have created endless memories with each other and their three children, Joanna, Speros and Niko. But they say love keeps you young, so the couple both agreed that out of their little family, the two of them are the biggest kids of all. Their love has been a journey full of laughing at dad jokes, crying sessions over K dramas and scaring themselves silly with horror movies. But their biggest bond is their love for science and their ability to nerd out with one another.
Although they had considered planning a wedding ceremony, Chelsea and Eric quickly realized that their love didn’t need to wait for the sake of others. Instead, having the intimate ceremony at The Durham Courthouse allowed them a chance to start spending every second loving one another deeply!
