Summer Engagement at UNC - Chapel Hill Campus - Tyler & Kirby
Summer is one of my favorite time’s of year to capture couples. There’s something about the heat that allows couples to be authentic with one another. Tyler and Kirby were such a hoy to be around and get to know before their spring 2024 wedding. Since I’ve been catering to smaller, more intimate weddings, a lot of my couples have been opting out of engagement sessions. But Tyler & Kibry knew they wanted a summery backdrop for their session. We went to Coker arboretum on UNC’s campus and quickly learned that many of the flowers had already died off for the season and the iconic arbor had been dismantled and taken down. This however just forced me to get more creative, exploring parts of the campus I had never been before and finding a few hidden gems along the way. Kirby was such a trooper during the session, going barefoot after spraining her ankle only a few days prior.
They have been together since 2018 and met because they were next door neighbors. After buying a house and adopting the cutest dog, Serotonin, together and they figured marriage is the next step :) Tyler is an aircraft mechanic and Kirby work in assisted living as a PCA, she’s currently in school to become a museum conservator and they are hoping to move to the UK in fall of 2024 to go to university together. These two love history, the Assassin's Creed video game series, our dog Sero, home renovation, forging, board games, and trying new types of tea. (a delicacy they will sure to get a ton of once they go across the pond.)
I hope that you can get a sense of their down to earth personalities and how much these two love each other in these photos!
