a few facts about me:

  • I’m born & raised Raleigh. And haven’t found a city I love more. But that hasn’t stopped me from traveling all over the world.

  • You can typically find me at a coffee shop working on my computer; editing photos, working on my novel, or downtown Raleigh sipping on a non-alcoholic fizzy drink.

  • I’ve seen The 1975 over 16 times and typically follow them down the east coast.

  • I’m a dog mom to Vecna & Slade (who is actually a super villain and broke my leg in 3 places!)

  • I got married on Halloween to a bio-chemist I met on Craiglsit (and yes it was at the height of the Craiglist Killer and no I have no idea what he does so don’t ask because I just get frazzled and say SCIENCE!)

  • I love thrifting, hot tea, & mocktails.

  • I hate Kindle but I love reading.

  • In my spare time, I am binging TV shows, listening to music way too loudly, decorating for Halloween (it’s a year round event), reading my tarot cards, and working on my novel.

photography is in my blood

See that man to your left. That’s my grandfather Ken.

When he died I was only 12 years old. And while I inherited all of his cameras, it wasn’t until I was older did I understand that I inherited his passion for memory keeping. This man had more slides than bowling trophies (which was quite a few of both) and going through those photos on the projector made me feel closer to him.

It was this closeness that inspired me to always have a camera in my hand. First it was scrapbooking, then it was documenting my friend, then Facebook albums, and eventually it morphed into an actual artform.

When I pick up my camera I’m not just “at work,” I’m thinking about all those slides, all the family members I only met through photographs, the image of my grandparent’s that sit on my vanity and greet me every morning. Photography isn’t just a job - it’s a calling in my blood.

the best part of my job… is you.

One of the best feelings in the world is walking into a room and hearing “she shot my wedding."“
I wear it like a badge of honor. And I am well aware that it’s these reactions that keep me going.

I come into every wedding with one priority, ensuring you have the best day! And of course get amazing photos. Even if you don’t want to become BFF’s that’s totally okay - but just know that I’m going to take care of you like you’re a part of my inner circle. Anticipating needs, being the rock to keep the environment a chill zone, and just ensure that the only thing you have to focus on is having fun & celebrating the love between you.

“We’re awkward in
front of the camera.”

If I had a nickel for every time I heard this…. I’m here to tell you it’s just not true!
No one is awkward.

I know that it’s a lot of pressure. But I promise you, if you trust me, and lean into it moment as any other day. You’re going to do just fine.

And the way I photograph, it’s all about being in the moment. With prompts, activities, and other techniques I use to get you into the moment and out of your head, I like to tell every client to trust that I will capture the best photo of them.

If you want to watch the video to your right - it’ll show you a real session, and how I snap some of those photos you see online.
