Downtown Raleigh Courthouse Wedding with Ashaunti & Trevor
Ashaunti & Trevor met in 2018 after receiving promotions at their jobs. Since then not only has their love grown, but their family has gotten bigger with the addition of their two daughters.
Their ideal vision for their wedding ceremony was a small civil ceremony, which they chose to take place in the Downtown Raleigh Courthouse. The ceremony was simple and beautiful, and the couple shared in many smiles and kisses around the courthouse building. Afterwards, Ashaunti who had previously expressed her love for the city vibes that Downtown Raleigh offers, had her chance to shine alongside Trevor as we walked around and explored the different corners in the nearby areas. The portraits that were captured of Ashaunti and Trevor were based off previous city shoots that I have taken in Downtown Raleigh and other nearby cities.
Civil ceremonies are growing in frequency nowadays due to it being a more simple, cost effective, and flexible opportunity for a couple to get married. For many couples too, the courthouse wedding allows them a more private way to begin their new journey, one that does not have all the fanfare, stress, and guest lists that a big ceremony calls for. They are more low key and allow for a greater choice in what you’re able to control for your special day. As the popularity of civil ceremonies have begun to increase, I have expanded as a photographer to ensure that couples who choose this private ceremony option have the same dedication and coverage that bigger, lavish wedding ceremonies have.
