Graduation Photos with the Class of 2024 at UNC Chapel Hill with Boone, Hayden, Ethan and Steven
Imagine the sun shining, a Caroline Blue sky, and you and your best buds walking through campus for your last hurrah…. as a Documentary Graduation Photographer one thing I love is capturing the camaraderie and love between friends who have endured a grueling four years of college together. It was a nostalgic and bittersweet session with Boone, Hayden, Ethan and Steven who graduated this past weekend from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
We had a beautiful afternoon strolling down memory lane and reminiscing about football games in Kenan Stadium, the first day superstitions of Old Well, and seeing places of the UNC Campus that hold the countless memories from their friendship.
After meeting Boone in high school and taking his senior photos when he was just starting his journey to UNC, it’s so crazy to think that four years have already flown by. It was just yesterday he was working as a social media manager after school and now he’s on to even bigger and better things. I was so happy that he asked me to capture this special moment for him and his friends. Getting to know them all, and hear their stories were one of my favorite parts of the evening.
Many people often will have their Senior photos or Graduation photos captured as solo portraits, but I highly recommend including your best pals and a couple bottles of champagne. (Peep the fun party shots at the end of this post). It’s important to find a way to remember the good old days and especially the people who get you through them. And what’s awesome about the UNC campus is that there are many places where memories are made and therefore many cool places to get your not so average graduation shots! Also we had to bit a creative with shots since the campus was crawling with grads trying to get their special moment captured.
One of my favorite shots is definitely the one of the boys in the bleacher stands of Kenan, a power shot of a good time if I’ve ever seen one!
Looking forward to capturing more grads this summer, December, and in the 2025 season.
