Whimsical, Woodland Elopement in Utah with Bri & Bryce
The hills are alive… with the sound of laughter, love and the gentle breeze of Utah.
When we arrived in the clearing, I was in awe of the beauty and inspired by the scene before me. And if you take a moment to scroll through these breath aking photos of Bri & Bryce, you’ll see what I mean.
The weather was perfect, the sun was out, and nothing was stopping them from frolicking and dancing while I snapped some photos. At one point, I asked them to lay in the grass and hold one another, and all I could picture was that scene in Twilight with Edward and Bella… * s w o o n *. I loved Bri’s flower crown and the simplicity of her dress. It was such a soft complement to the wildflowers that were scattered in front of us. And Bryce’s simple suit was a very neutral gray that did not get overshadowed by the hills in many of the shots. It truly was a dreamy stage for a lovely couple to express their love for one another!
Destination wedding photography can be a challenge, because you often don’t know what you will find when you arrive at the site. You can do all the research you want, but something might be different or the weather might not cooperate with what you had planned. But as a photographer, I love when couples are willing to trust me and my vision and roll around in the mud if need be. I’m often inspired by everything I see before me, and an idea will strike that I am just dying for my clients to try. Obviously, if you say “no”, we’ll move on to other things. But more times than not, my clients will give it a shot and it creates stunning photos like these.
Bri& Bryce were kind enough to model for me when I was in Utah. These two met at a mac and cheese party (yes you read that right) and it was love at first scoop! They braved giant mosquitos (hello new west coast fear) and showed us some amazing places….. This shoot of course was coordinated by my photog bestie Whitehurst Photo because I was second shooting for her for her destination wedding in Utah!
