Regal, Elegant Wedding at Duke Chapel in Durham with Kiera & Gabe
As two alumni of Duke University, Kiera & Gabe were excited to have the biggest party of their lives at Duke Chapel. The two met towards the end of college, where Gabe played football and Kiera was on the swim team. Post graduation, they moved to Charleston, SC where she works in mental health and he is on his 4th year of medical school.
One of the hard parts of the whole wedding process, was that they were planning the wedding from afar. But they knew the exact kind of party they wanted to have. One of their main priorities was making sure that everyone felt connected and appreciated, as all the guests have been an integral piece of their love story. So finding ways to constantly remind their guests that they are special to their love story was something they set forth to do.
When I asked why they reached out to me, Kiera mentioned that in a lot of my portfolios, my style of photography and my approach did not stick to the cookie cutter portraits that one expects of a wedding day shoot. And as I flipped through the photos from their special day, I could see what she meant.
I was able to create a real and timeless momento of special moments whether they were of the ceremony in the Duke Chapel or of the energetic celebration that took place in Blue Devil Tower after. And this is one of the reasons I enjoy being a wedding photographer.
